Matthew Harrison
Producer

One day you may find him in front of the camera; the next day he’s working behind the scenes.  Regardless what his role is at the moment, Matthew Harrison feels blessed to contribute to Salt + Light and the new evangelization.

Originally from Trenton, Ontario, Matthew moved to Toronto in 1996 to study Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University. After graduating in 2000 he worked at Broadcast News, the broadcast division of the Canadian Press, as a studio editor.

In 2002 Matthew attended World Youth Day in Toronto. It was an event that changed his life and prompted him to explore the possibility of a vocation to the priesthood.  He successfully completed philosophy studies at St. Philip’s Seminary in Toronto and discerned that God was calling him to a different vocation.

In October 2006 Matthew joined the Salt + Light team, working behind the scenes in a technical capacity.  You can still find him helping out as a camera operator and assistant editor.  As a producer, Matthew is involved in the production of Salt + Light’s current affairs show Catholic Focus, Lectio Divina with Archbishop Thomas Collins, and regularly hosts the network’s daily update Zoom.  He has also worked as an associate producer on our book series, Word for Word, our series celebrating the vocation of motherhood, Mothering: Full of Grace, and the documentary exploring the Holy See at the United Nations, Mission to the UN.  One of his most demanding duties is the Salt + Light blog, which he oversees and contributes to regularly.

Married in October 2008, Matthew is a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Aldora.
