Originally from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Sébastien grew up in a devout Catholic family. Regularly involved in the activities organized both on a parochial and diocesan level, he finally decided to leave his birthplace and take part in an exchange program that allowed him to ameliorate his English skills as well as learn Spanish.

Upon his return, he studied philosophy at the Dominican College of Philosophy and Theology in Ottawa where he obtained his B.A. He interrupted his studies momentarily however, to join the World Youth Day 2002 national team in Toronto and was responsible for the coordination and promotion of the pilgrimage of the World Youth Day cross to Canada. This particular experience led him to pursue his studies in theology. He completed his Master of Divinity at the University of St Michael’s College in Toronto and has been with Salt + Light since 2005.

Sébastien is the producer of the French speaking book show, Les compléments du Verbe, now filmed in the bookstore of the Daughters of St. Paul in Montreal. He also produces Focus catholique and is a regular host of Zoom, our daily update.  

Sébastien is happily married to Marilena Berardinelli since August 2007.
