From time to time, we make adaptations of our French-language Focus catholique for our English Focus audience and on Wednesday, May 6th you'll see an example of this. Tonight's episode showcases three business people that succeed in living out their faith within their work life:
  • J-Robert Ouimet, CEO of Holding O.C.B. and heir to the maker of Cordon Bleu canned products. He always felt guilty for having received so much. At one point he even wondered whether he should abandon everything he owned. So, in pursuit of a clean heart, he solicited the advice of Mother Theresa. This meeting would drastically change his life.
  • James Marchant, a human resources professional who has not only worked with many prestigious organizations, but also created a network of executives called Xe-NOR. All the more striking about Marchant's Christian approach to business is how far he once was from his faith. It was through illness that he became aware of a spiritual void within.
  • Lise Baillargeon, who started her own consulting firm after more than 30 years in hotel and restaurant management. Like many of her generation, Lise was a practicing Catholic in her youth. This flame of faith was extinguished soon after Lise entered the workplace. She could not have imagined that participating in a business women's retreat would bring her back to her faith.
Hosted by my colleague Kris Dmytrenko, join us for Catholic Focus: Business and Faith tonight at 7pm and 11pm ET, with an encore presentation Satuday May 9th at the same times.
