Andrew Santos

Monday, March 19, 2012

He celebrated his first Mass as a cardinal with Pope Benedict XVI, gave thanks with his priests in Toronto, and now His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins will go to the place where it all began for a special celebration.
On March 22, Cardinal Collins will visit Guelph, Ont. and preside at a vespers prayer service. It begins at 7 pm at his hometown parish, the Church of Our Lady Immaculate. Both clergy and laity from the diocese of Hamilton have been invited to participate in the prayer service.
Mayor Karen Farbridge and Don Drone, director of the Wellington Catholic District School Board, will be in attendance. They will offer words of congratulations on behalf of the city of Guelph and the Catholic education community.
On February 18, Collins was appointed to the position of Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in a public consistory in Rome.
So be sure to mark your calendars! Salt + Light Television invites you to join in on this celebration live on our network. Watch our latest promotional video and stay tuned for further details as we draw closer to this Thursday's celebration.
