Pornography: where do you draw the line?

Cheridan Sanders

Friday, September 23, 2011

Where do you draw the line on pornography? That’s the question Pedro asks this week on Perspectives Weekly. Joining him for the discussion is Robert Borys, Author of Love, Marriage and-- Pornography?
Robert BorysThe Catechism of the Catholic Church defines pornography as an offense against chasity, under article 2354:
Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the injury of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.
Inspired to address the issue after overhearing some students talking about pornography they viewed online, Robert Borys shares some tips, and reminds us of how pervasive the problem remains.
Join us for this thought-provoking discussion on the dangers of Pornography on Friday, September 23rd The Weekly Edition, 7 and 11pm ET, 8 Pacific. In the meantime, join our discussion at www.facebook.saltandlighttv.org
