Noel-Blog
Welcome to S+L’s Weekly News Round-Up. As part of my job, I come across many interesting Catholic news and stories on a daily basis. Some of them I'll cover on Perspectives Daily and the others I’d like to share with you on this blog.  This column is where I’ll point out some of the more interesting news pieces that I’ve come across over the past week! Enjoy!
Social media is so fickle, You never know what'll go viral and when. Here's a perfect example. A story that's well over ten years old has resurfaced again and is making the rounds on social media. It has to do with a host that levitated during consecration at a Mass in France back in 1999. The host appears to levitate an inch from the paten and of course was caught on film. Is it real or fake? You decide.
We often think of saints as the "perfect" role model for holiness. It's very easy to forget that many of them lived very scandalous and salacious existences before a conversion of the heart that changed their lives. From the apparently exquisite seductress St. Mary of Egypt to pleasure seeking St. Augustine to the conceited actress St. Pelagia, all personas of individuals that I'm sure we all know today. Aleteia published this great story of five scandalous sinners who became great saints. Read all about it here.
Since we are on the topic of conversions, I came across a great article on Epic Pew that put together a collection of YouTube videos of atheists who went through a conversion.  You can see the entire list here, but first check out this one of  Sr. Theresa Noble.
Ok, one last video for you today. If you are like me, in the mid-to-late 40's age bracket, you probably often wonder what's going through the minds of the Millennials, who seem to live in an entirely different world and think entirely differently from my Generation X contemporaries. I came across this interesting video that explains why the youth (I'm referring to Millennials) leave the Church in a way that makes sense to me. I just had to share as it's well worth the watch.
Well, that's it for this week! I hope you enjoyed today's blog as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you.
