CNS Vatican Report: Sports and the Vatican

A basketball game in St. Peter's square?
Yup. It happened in 1955.
And though they aren't fielding a team, you can bet that just like millions around the world, the folks at the Vatican will keep an eye on the World Cup that begins in South Africa on June 11th.
When you think of the Vatican, you may not immediately think of basketball or soccer, but they have a long association with sports. Catholic News Service's Cindy Wooden and Carol Glatz look at the Holy See and sports on this week's Vatican Report.
