Two members of the Salt + Light Television team will be high-level participants of the XII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which will take place in the Vatican from October 5 to 26.
Fr. Thomas Rosica, C.S.B., CEO of Salt + Light Television, has been appointed to serve as the English Language Press Attaché. Fr. Rosica, who holds advanced degrees in Sacred Scripture, will be responsible for English language media and journalists covering the Synod in Vatican City.  He will attend all sessions of the Synod of Bishops, brief journalists each day at a press conference in the John Paul II Conference Hall of the Holy See Press Office, and moderate English language information sessions with Synod Fathers and the world media.
Producer Kris Dmytrenko will also find a place in the Synod’s news arena. Dmytrenko will work with the Catholic news services ZENIT News Agency (www.zenit.org) and H2O (www.h2onews.org). For the month of October, the S+L producer will be covering the upcoming Synod, reporting on the significant developments of the meetings.
“I'm thrilled to be in Rome as some of the greatest minds in the Church convene,” Dmytrenko said.
This exchange is a result of a relationship that has developed between Salt + Light and Jesús Colina, the director of ZENIT News Agency.  The S+L Team was able to meet Colina during the 2008 Catholic Media Convention, which was held in Toronto this past May. Salt + Light's partnership with H2Onews has been in place since the latter's planning stages. Salt + Light contributes content and video to H2Onews, while H2Onews footage can be regularly seen on S+L's daily Catholic update, Zoom.
The Holy Father Benedict XVI has issued the theme “The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church” for the General Assembly.
Salt + Light Television will carry the latest news and events from the Synod throughout the month of October on Zoom, airing daily at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET, and on our blog, at www.saltandlighttv.org/blog.
