Plan on this

November 25, 2010
I like to have a plan of attack, a list of things to do. More than that, I like to check things off that list and sit with the contentment that I have accomplished what I set out to do. Unfortunately (for my need of control, anyway), my plans don’t always match up with God’s plans and I’m left flummoxed, discombobulated, and helpless.
In this upcoming episode of Word for Word, we share advice for those planners like me on how to discern God’s plan for our lives. We meet Dorothy Cummings, author of Seraphic Singles: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Single Life, who talks about embracing what God has in store for her. And we talk to Fr. Philip Shano, whose understanding of the Ignatian teaching, “finding God in all things,” helped him recover from the debilitating effects of a brain tumor.
Watch Word for Word on Friday November 26th at 9pm ET.
