100 Years of Phenomenal Care: Saint Elizabeth Health Care

This past August, Madonna Gallo from Saint Elizabeth Health Care approached Salt + Light CEO Fr. Thomas Rosica about profiling Saint Elizabeth Health Care, an award-winning organization and not-for-profit charitable leader that has been delivering community health care since 1908.
Fr. Rosica was enthusiastic about their work and asked me to lead the production on a half-hour program on them. Before then, I had never heard of Saint Elizabeth Health Care.
What first caught my attention was their vision brochure and ads. They really made you think about a different way of doing things. Like this:

The vision of Saint Elizabeth Health Care is to be a phenomenal knowledge and care exchange company. You may notice that the word knowledge comes first; because for Saint Elizabeth, what is primary to taking care of yourself is knowing – knowing what your condition is, knowing how you can educate yourself and help yourself, knowing that care should be holistic, and knowing that there are people who can care for you in the comfort and security of your own home.
An organization that began with four Catholic visiting nurses in 1908, Saint Elizabeth Health Care now has 4,000 multidisciplinary staff delivering 3.3 million home-visits a year.
Tune in on Wednesday, December 10th at 7pm, 10:30pm, and midnight ET for the Catholic Focus episode “100 Years of Phenomenal Care: Saint Elizabeth Health Care”. There will be an encore presentation on Saturday, December 13th at the same times.  For those who have access to TLN (Telelatino), the program will also air on Sunday, December 28th, at 1:30pm ET.
