Boasting and the Thorn

Not exactly what one would see as a common practice today, but that is precisely what St. Paul delves into in his Second Letter to the Corinthians -- which also happens to be the Scripture for this month's Lectio Divina with Archbishop Thomas Collins: A Year with St. Paul.
Specifically, Archbishop Collins looks at II Corinthians 11: 30-33; 12: 1-10. He reflects on Paul's boasting, weakness, and the thorn. Yes, thorns! Those difficulties in our lives that we just can't seem to shake. But as the Archbishop points out with St. Paul, these thorns can be of benefit -- they keep us from getting too puffed up, too big on ourselves. After all, as Toronto's chief shepherd says, we all have cracks...it's what allows the light of Christ to shine through!
Join us this Sunday, March 15th at 9pm ET, for the March broadcast edition of Lectio Divina with Archbishop Collins: A Year with St. Paul. An encore presentation will also be broadcast on Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm ET.
