Welcome to S+L’s Weekly News Round-Up. As the Director of Marketing and Communications here at S+L, many interesting Catholic news stories and articles come across my desk on a daily basis. Some of them we’ll cover on our different television programs and others I’d like to share with you on this blog.
This blog column is where I’ll point out some of the more interesting news pieces that I’ve come across over the past week! Enjoy!
Who isn't a little interested in big time Hollywood movie stars, especially when they are open and outspoken about their Catholic Faith? Well, our former bad-boy turned choir-boy Mark Wahlberg is at it again with this video he created as a greeting to those present at the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors, that was taking place in his hometown of Boston.
Check it out!
We can't forget about the time that he openly spoke to Piers Morgan on CNN live about what he prays for. Apparently, whenever he's in Toronto filming or at the Toronto International Film Festival  he is often seen at St.Basil's Parish for Mass in the mornings! How's that for a role model?
Holy Day of Obligations -  I'm sure we all know what they are in practice (days other than Sundays that we have to go to Mass) but, what is the theological reason behind them? This interesting video explanation came across my desk earlier in the week and I thought I might share:

Facebook Live is becoming a big thing! You can now pray the rosary with Cardinal Collins LIVE on Wednesdays at 3 pm ET. Check out the entire story here.
Now here's another interesting story, that you can file away in the trivia folder, from our friends at Epic Pew:

Did you know that:

2. Exorcisms are not normally the Hollywood version
3. Nobody should be involved in exorcisms for selfish reasons
4. Read the entire article here
One last thought of the day that kept me chuckling. Jesus said:

Ok, that's it for my blog for today! I'm sure I'll come across some interesting articles and other tid-bits of information that I'll post here next Friday!
