Diplomats receive New Year's greeting from Pope Francis - Perspectives Daily
January 9, 2017
The Holy Father met with diplomats accredited to the Holy See Monday morning and warned against the danger of using religion to justify violence. He told them "that every expression of religion is called to promote peace". On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Sunday, he baptised 28 babies in the Sistine Chapel. And as the city of Rome is covered in frost, because of unusually cool temperatures, the papal charities are keeping their shelters open to the homeless during the day.
