Today, February 2, is a very important day for us Catholics, as it is the day the Church celebrates the Presentation of Jesus to the Temple. This occurs forty days after the birth of Jesus and is also known as Candlemas day.We have a clip from the film Mary of Nazareth, courtesy of our friends at Ignatius Press that illustrates the events of that day. Have a look below:This film, Mary of Nazareth can be purchased on their website at www.ignatius.com.Every month the Pope publishes a video where he invites the community to pray for a specific intention. This month, the Pope asked for prayers to Comfort of the Afflicted. That all those who are afflicted, especially the poor, refugees, and marginalized, may find welcome and comfort in our communities.
That's it for Perspectives today. We'll see you on Monday.
