Perspectives Daily - Pope's Video Message to The People of Egypt

Lets start in Rome today where the Pope just released a video message of consolation and encouragement to the peoples of Egypt on the eve of his historic visit to Cairo later this week. Let’s have a look

The Ontario Canadian Bishops were in Rome this week for their Ad Limina Visit with the Pope. During these visits, the Pope receives the Bishops of each region, where an overview of church life in the region is given to the Pope. In addition to the audience, the Bishops meet with officials of the various offices of the Roman Curia which assist the Holy Father in governing the Church.
We'll bring you more details about the impressions, conversation and meeting, that the Ontario Bishops had with the Pope as they become available in the next few days.
Here in Ontario this week, a group of Mennonites, together with other faith-based groups, have begun a 600 km walking pilgrimage from Kitchener to Ottawa: to bring awareness to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Organized by Mennonite Church Canada and Christian Peacemaker Teams, the Pilgrimage for Indigenous Rights is a response to Article 48 of Canada’s "Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s" Calls to Action, where faith groups are called to public dialogue and action in support of this campaign. The Pilgrimage is making stops at churches along the way to engage conversation about this cause. Public events will be held at various churches in along the pilgrimage route. Organizers are inviting supporters of all faiths, to attend the teach-ins and join the Pilgrimage for Indigenous Rights as they journey through southern and central Ontario.
