Installation Mass of Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI
On November 8th Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, becomes the ninth bishop to serve the Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario.
Though he was born in small town Ontario, as a priest with the Oblates if Mary Immaculate much of his assignments were in eastern Canada.
In 1997 he was named the Bishop of Labrador City–Schefferville, followed by a 2003 appointment to head the diocese of St. George’s Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2007 after a change of diocesan boundaries, he was appointed the head of the newly formed Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador. He ministered there until the fall of 2010 when he was called by Pope Benedict XVI to serve Hamilton.
