Perspectives    Consecrated Life with Sr. Marie Azzarello of the Congregation of Notre Dame

March 13, 2015 - Deacon Pedro continues this week celebrating Consecrated Life with Sr. Marie Azzarello of the Congregation of Notre Dame. When asked why she joined the CND, Sr. Marie answered, "don't ask me why I joined; ask me why I stayed." She speaks about Marguerite Bourgeoys, about the spirit of "visitation" and what she calls the spirit of "being in conversation with the neighbour", as we try to answer the question, what is Consecrated Life?

Sr. Marie Azzarello, CND is a well-known adult educator in Montreal. She leads reflection groups on Mary, mother and first disciple of Jesus, as the archetype of Christian discipleship. Sr. Marie is the author of Mary The First Disciple, A Guide for Transforming Today’s Church and Mary and the Maternal Face of God.

She recently spent two years on mission in Troyes, France, the native city of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. There, Sr. Marie assisted in the renovation of the Marguerite Bourgeoys’ Centre into a contemporary, dynamic, bilingual space.
