Fr. Michael Prieur - Witness Interview

May 3, 2018 - Fr. Michael Prieur, priest of the Diocese of London, is professor emeritus of Moral Theology at St. Peter’s Seminary in London. He holds a Doctorate in Theology from Rome and taught Moral and Sacramental Theology at St. Peter’s Seminary in London since 1969 until his recent retirement from the seminary faculty. Known and admired for his scholarly work in the area of Medical Ethics, Fr. Prieur has also been a sought-after teacher and mentor of hundreds of young men for ordained ministry, permanent deacons and many lay persons for ecclesial ministries. As a specialist in bioethics for over 35 years, he served as consultant to St. Joseph’s Health Care in London, the Catholic Health Association of Canada, and the Canadian Conference of Catholic bishops. Fr. Prieur has devoted considerable hours guiding staff, physicians and volunteers through complex ethical discernments, and supporting families in their time of greatest need. He has been a moral compass for countless people throughout Canada. His latest book, “The Art of the Confessor”, brings together his deep knowledge of the Catholic tradition along with years of teaching, pastoral ministry and great wisdom.
