The team at Salt + Light Media is looking forward to welcoming Fr. Haig Chahinian as our new CEO in December! We're excited for his joyful, hopeful, and engaging vision for our organization.
Fr. Haig’s appointment comes just in time for the beginning of Advent – a time to look ahead, and walk forward, in the hope and love of Christ given to us in his birth and his eternal reign. Advent also reminds us of our “responsibility of reading the signs of the times and of interpreting them in the light of the Gospel” (Gaudium et Spes #4). It renews our summons to mission: we proclaim the everlasting hope of Christ, who unites his Church in faith and love. We adapt the means of our proclamation in a rapidly changing world and media landscape that is at once increasingly connected and increasingly divided.
Fr. Haig’s appointment at this time signifies a renewed summons to this mission as well. His energetic and experienced leadership aligns deeply with our values and history, and moves the Salt + Light Media story forward into this next phase of our journey.
God our Father,
on a hillside in Galilee, your Son Jesus
called us to be the salt of the earth
and the light of the world.
Give us the strength and wisdom to become
the people of the Beatitudes in our day
so that our words may season the world
with the flavour of the Gospel and
our lives be shining examples of Jesus,
who is the true Light of the world.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
