Door of Mercy: Krakow

Gabriel Chow

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

(C) 2016 Gabriel Chow
In the Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis invited every diocesan bishop to select some churches as "Shrines of Mercy", and their doors become "Doors of Mercy" for pilgrims to obtain special grace and strength to receive God's mercy.
In the program "Door of Mercy", I will select dioceses from around the world and present these churches with a Door of Mercy. I will explain the history and significance of these churches, and share with you pictures of the churches that I took. I wish to encourage everyone to go on a pilgrimage during the Holy Year of Mercy, and to become agents of mercy.
The last episode of "Door of Mercy" brought you to Seoul, Korea, while this third episode brings you to Krakow, the former capital of Poland. The Archdiocese of Krakow has 11 jubilee churches with Doors of Mercy, and the video will introduce the first 6 of them:
  1. Basilica of Divine Mercy
  2. Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Wenceslaus (Wawel Cathedral)
  3. Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  4. Basilica of the Holy Cross (Mogila Abbey)
  5. Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  6. Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels
  7. Shrine of St. John Paul II
  8. Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
  9. Church of St. Peter the Apostle
  10. Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
  11. Church of the Holy Family
I hope you will enjoy. English and Chinese subtitles are available. (If you are using a computer, you can find the settings at the bottom-right corner of the video.) The Chinese version of the video is also available.
Here are the locations of the 11 jubilee shrines in the Archdiocese of Krakow:

The Rosary is powerful: many graces can be bestowed upon those who pray it, and it can also offer special protection. Reciting the Rosary aloud in church and praying for the pope’s intentions can grant the supplicant a plenary indulgence.
