Reflections From The Holy Land- The Shepherd's Fields

The Salt + Light team had the privilege of being on the ground of Israel for a Lenten pilgrimage in 2016, where they filmed a series of reflections. In this reflection, featuring Sebastian Gomes, he visits the Shepherd’s Fields, where the first public proclamation of the birth of Jesus took place. This reflection reminds us that Jesus favours poor, marginalized, and unsavoury people, and raises questions such as: Are we able to privilege the poor and marginalized in our own lives? The Shepherd's story reminds us that the salvation of history unfolds through ordinary and simple people. As Sebastian explains, “We have to remember that God can always write straight with crooked lines.”
