Come get refreshed!

Matthew Harrison

Thursday, April 12, 2007

What are you doing this Saturday, April 14th? If you don’t have plans – and if you already do have plans may I suggest a change – perhaps you should consider checking out the Lift Jesus Higher Rally.
For those of you who have never been, it’s an all-day event held usually every April, jam-packed with all sorts of wonderful things to help enrich and grow in our Catholic faith.
This year features talks from Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Fr. Stan Fortuna, Dana Scallon (you probably recognize the name from her popular recordings!), as well as Renewal Ministries – Ralph Martin, Peter Herbeck, and Sister Ann Shields.
Toronto Archbishop Thomas Collins will also celebrated Holy Mass, and there will be a Eucharistic procession, a Divine Mercy celebration, the Ark of the New Covenant, plenty of praise and worship songs, confessions, a youth rally, and much more.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet other people from the Catholic community, or to share your faith with others.
One of the events organizer’s, Mr. Paul Kromer, recently shared with me one of the aims of the Lift Jesus Higher Rally:
We would like the Rally to be a force in the new evangelization, we want it to be a well where people come get refreshed but also get converted. We would like the nominal Catholic to become a convinced Catholic one who can evangelize others.
So come out this weekend to the Metro Convention Centre and get refreshed! Learn about your faith, be open to the Holy Spirit, and allow your heart to be converted!
For ticket information, you can call Sadie at (905) 270-2510 or Margaret at (416) 498-0447. Or you can visit the official website at www.lift-jesus-higher-rally.org.
