"Greatest film on faith" comes to Canada

Religious persecution, hope and charity are among the themes touched upon in the new film Of Gods and Men. The award-winning movie looks at the lives of a community of monks living in Algeria. The film portrays the daily rhythm of monastic life, the monks' dialogue with their Muslim neighbors, as well as their struggle to discern God’s will in the face of an extremist threat.
Of Gods and Men was one of the most buzzworthy films at both the Cannes and Toronto film festivals. Among its many endorsements, from both secular and religious critics alike, Jesuit commentator Fr. James Martin is calling it "the greatest film I've ever seen on faith". This week it began showing at select theatres across North America, including Toronto's Bell Lightbox theatre today and Wednesday. Watch the trailer below:
