Is it necessary to pray the Rosary?

Carlos Ferreira

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Grown up in Portugal I always was told that our lady asked the three little shepherds in Fatima to say the rosary every day but some times we know that this just is not enough! And as I grew up, I learned how much the rosary has an effect and how much it helps on each one’s spiritual growth.
For me it became a ritual every morning when I was going to school and even now on my way to work I pray to our Mother to bless my day, to stay with me and also to offer to Her the first moments of my day.
The Rosary is a powerful prayer and for me thinking on a question of obligation when it comes to faith is always difficult to accept. I think we should understand what the Church asks us and why? And once more when you start praying and seeing the effects it has on your life you feel God! This really helps me.
So the rosary is a form of prayer and to understand it and to know more about it Pedro invited  Fr. James Phalan CSC, Director of Family Rosary International to help us to answer the question is it necessary to pray the rosary?
Join us for this discussion, Friday on Perspectives: The Weekly Edition at 7 and 11pm ET / 8pm PT. In the meantime, take part in the discussion on Facebook.
