Time For Moms

Gillian Kantor

Monday, February 15, 2010

Many mothers know the value of a time out for their little ones – a few minutes for a rangy toddler to sit, calm down, think about the action that led them to the time out in the first place, and start again.
MOTHER ENJOYS WARM AFTERNOON WITH SON IN INDIANAPOLIS PARKBut do many mothers know the value of a time out for themselves? This one isn’t the result of bad behaviour, but  - somewhat ironically – not having enough time. Yes, moms who feel like they don’t have enough time are exactly the ones who need to take time… out, for themselves.  Sit, calm down, think about your role as mom, and begin again with renewed perspective.
And Salt + Light Television is excited to let mothers in and around the Toronto area in on an event that can help them do just that. Dynamic Women of Faith is a one-day conference that will bring together moms and speakers to reflect on topics such as Parenting in a Consumer Culture, How to be Happy, and Juggling Priorities, Overcoming Obstacles and Being Victorious. Organized by – who else?! – busy moms, this day-long conference will offer moms the time out that they need.
Dynamic Women of Faith will be held Saturday, March 6, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Sheraton Airport Hotel and Conference Centre (801 Dixon Rd., Toronto). For more information and to register, please contact Dorothy Pilarski at 905-279-7702 or info@dorothypilarski.com.
And for moms across Canada who may not be able to take time out at a conference, we encourage you to take time out to watch the Salt + Light series, Mothering, Full of Grace. Meet busy, Catholic moms – just like yourselves – as they embrace their vocations to raise families in the faith. To order a copy of the series, please visit our online store HERE.
