Faith in a Time of Crisis: Rohingya Refugees

Salt + Light Media

Thursday, May 28, 2020

Very quickly into the COVID-19 pandemic it was clear that news outlets were no longer covering the plight of refugees anywhere. Very quickly we forgot the people of Syria and Venezuela. Very quickly we forgot about the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. Yet these people are not immune from the virus. In fact, they are more vulnerable to it. And in Bangladesh, in the wake of cyclone Amphan, the crisis has intensified. In this edition of Faith in a Time of Crisis, Deacon Pedro Guevara-Mann speaks with Dominique Godbout of Development and Peace-Caritas Canada about how COVID-19 has affected the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and about the aftermath of Cyclone Amphan.
To learn more about the Rohingya crisis you can watch this episode of Perspectives Weekly.
