Hamilton's new Bishop: Draw us

Matthew Harrison

November 4, 2010
Trahe nos.  Draw us.
That’s the motto of Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI.
On Monday, November 8th, he will be installed as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario.
Regarding the motto, the 62-year old prelate explains that Jesus says no one can come to me unless through the Father (John 6:44).  To this, he adds “Our response is a very intense and strong prayer: draw us.  Bring us home, draw us close.”
Appropriately, the Gospel for the Installation Mass includes the Episcopal motto, and Bishop Crosby is expected to explain further its significance to his ministry, and his love for the passage.
As the faithful of Hamilton are drawn together to celebrate their Bishop, Salt + Light is offering two ways for you to see Bishop Crosby’s Installation Mass at Hamilton’s Cathedral of Christ the King.
Watch a special LIVE stream available on the Bishop Crosby Installation Mass page @ saltandlighttv.org on November 8th beginning around 2:30pm ET. (the Mass begins at 3:00pm ET)
