I hope you will watch our Zoom broadcasts on both last Friday and this coming Friday as we present a great new documentary film called "Champions of Faith."

The film was released on baseball's opening day in April and has impressed everybody from Cardinals and Bishops to little league ballplayers. "Champions of Faith" features Major League stars such as Mike Piazza, David Eckstien, Jeff Suppan, Mike Sweeney and many more, talking openly about their passion for the Catholic Faith and the game they love.
Athletes are often dubbed heroes by society. We pay them millions of dollars in salary and endorsements to entertain us and to evoke for us the dreams we hold closest to our hearts. It is truly refeshing to see some of those "heroes" give the credit back from whence it came: to the good Lord who blessed them with their talent.
Cardinal Egan, the Archbishop of New York, had this to say about the film
Champions of Faith is a splendid documentary. It is deeply moving to see these baseball players, including future Hall of Famers, All-Stars, players and managers, demonstrate how their professional success has been accompanied by a deep love of their Catholic faith, a faith that they strive to live out everyday. This film is a powerful instrument of evangelization, and it is my hope that it will reach many people with its inspiring message.
I wholeheartedly agree. I encourage you to check out the official Champions of Faith website to learn more about this great new tool for connecting sports fans to the faith.
