Ahead of its broadcast debut this Sunday, S+L's latest documentary premiered on June 3 before a packed theatre in Vancouver's SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. The 350 guests were the first to see Across the Divide, an hour-long encounter with Christian students at Bethlehem University. Their stories are both inspiring and unsettling, as the film reveals the challenges faced by Christians caught in the intractable Israeli-Palestinian conflict. View the trailer here.
The B.C Catholic reported on the event, which included a spirited panel discussion with church leaders and experts on the region. The evening was co-presented by the Archdiocese of Vancouver, the B.C. Catholic newspaper and CNEWA Canada.
Across the Divide now heads to the opposite coast for the second public screening on its Canadian tour. The documentary will be shown this Monday, June 25 at Halifax's Empire 17 Cinemas Bayers Lake. This special event begins with a reception at 6:00 pm, followed by the screening at 7:00, and then a panel discussion with a question and answer period, featuring Carl Hetu from CNEWA Canada, Fr. James Mallon representing the Halifax Lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and S+L's Fr. Thomas Rosica. Most Rev. Anthony Mancini, Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth, will be in attendance.
Tickets are free due to the generosity of our co-presenters CNEWA Canada, the Halifax Lieutenancy of the EOHSJ and the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. However, seating is limited, so we advise that you reserve your ticket in advance via the Across the Divide website.
Across the Divide airs for the first time on S+L TV this Sunday, June 24 at 9:00pm ET / 6:00pm PT, followed by an encore presentation at 1:00am ET / 10:00pm PT.
