Virgin Most Holy, Mother of the Incarnate Word and our Mother,<\/span>
\n<\/span>venerated in the Shrine of Sheshan under the title \u201cHelp of Christians\u201d,<\/span>
\n<\/span>the entire Church in China looks to you with devout affection.<\/span>
\n<\/span>We come before you today to implore your protection.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Look upon the People of God and, with a mother\u2019s care, guide them<\/span>
\n<\/span>along the paths of truth and love, so that they may always be<\/span>
\n<\/span>a leaven of harmonious coexistence among all citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you obediently said \u201cyes\u201d in the house of Nazareth,<\/span>
\n<\/span>you allowed God\u2019s eternal Son to take flesh in your virginal womb<\/span>
\n<\/span>and thus to begin in history the work of our redemption.<\/span>
\n<\/span>You willingly and generously cooperated in that work,<\/span>
\n<\/span>allowing the sword of pain to pierce your soul,<\/span>
\n<\/span>until the supreme hour of the Cross, when you kept watch on Calvary,<\/span>
