Ted Penton SJ - Witness Interview

Ted Penton SJ
Jesuit Scholastic

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ted first came to know the Society of Jesus through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. As his JVC placement, he worked with the Farmworker Unit of Legal Aid of North Carolina, leading outreach to migrant workers across the state to educate them about their rights. His work there inspired him to attend law school, after which he spent one year as a clerk for Justice Fish at the Supreme Court of Canada, and two years working at the Department of Justice. Ted entered the English Canada Jesuit Province in 2009. From 2014-16 he worked for the Ignatian Spirituality Project, a Chicago-based network of volunteers across the USA and Canada who offer retreats for men and women experiencing homelessness and in recovery from addiction. Ted is currently in his final year of theology studies at Regis College in Toronto.
