Pier Giorgio Frassati was born into a prominent Italian family in 1901. Yet instead of enjoying a comfortable life of privilege, Frassati embraced a challenging life of love and service. Having died at the young age of 24, he quickly became a model for young lay Catholics around the world. The Church recognized him as a Blessed in 1990—thanks in part to the tireless efforts of Pier Giorgio's niece, Wanda Gawronska, who has dedicated her life to spreading Frassati's message. During a rare trip to Canada, Gawronska shares stories about Pier Giorgio in this special Witness interview. The interview was filmed before a live audience at the 2008 CCO Rise Up student conference in Toronto.
