In his weekly General Audience, Pope Leo XIV recounted his recent Apostolic Journey to Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea. He said that "I saw women and men dancing to the rhythm of songs of praise to the Risen Lord, the foundation of a hope that withstands the disappointments caused by ideologies and the empty promises of the powerful. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the second day of his Apostolic Journey to Equatorial Guinea, Pope Leo XIV presided over Holy Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mongomo.
