[This blog comes from Christopher Pietraszko, a seminarian interning with Salt + Light. Christopher and Christopher Marentette helped out our team at the IEC] It all began with two seminarians leaving on the train, early…very early, to head off to Quebec City from Toronto. After nine hours of travel, the two Salt + Light seminarians, ...read more
Saturday was one of our craziest days ever. We had to pack up all our equipment after the Morning Mass because we had to bring our control room, editing suite, box, etc., to the Plains of Abraham, where the Sunday Mass was going to be. The Pepsi Coliseum was no more!! BUT we still left ...read more
It was so sunny… so warm, even hot! Sure, it looked a little dark in the distance, but surely it was a few hours away — the 50-some thousand people who had gathered for the Statio Orbis to close the International Eucharistic Congress will certainly be able to enjoy sunny skies until the completion of ...read more
Cardinal Marc Ouellet delivered a bold declaration last night at the 49th International Eucharistic Congress. We have followed the pilgrimage of the Ark of the New Covenant since it began at the Martyr’s Shrine in Midland, Ontario.  As they near their 1000th kilometre on foot, the group is both deeply exhausted and sacramentally envigorated. ...read more
Mabuhay means something like “Long live” or “Welcome” in Tagalog, the language in my native country, the Philippines. I heard this word a lot today because the dynamic and charismatic Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle from the Philippines was periodically cheered by a lot of Filipino fans during his catechesis! Today’s featured continent was Asia, and ...read more
There’s a lot going on in the Eucharistic City! Two days ago, I covered Youth Space (very wild and lively) for the Zoom coverage on the Eucharistic Congress, and yesterday, I covered the serene and “mild-atmosphered “Adoration Chapels. It’s good to know that the pilgrims are not only hearing about the Eucharist, receiving the Eucharist, ...read more
