This year’s theme: “Catholic Education: Renewing the Promise.”
Close to two thousand students and staff from the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will gather at Cathedral High School on Monday, May 7 to begin Catholic Education Week (May 6-11).This week is meant to unite schools in a shared celebration of all that we are and all that we believe.Catholic Education Week is coordinated by the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) to raise awareness about the unique dimension of Catholic education in Ontario. The overall scriptural theme is taken from the book of Acts, “For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him” (Acts 2: 39).Parents, family and community members are invited to visit our schools during this special week and join in the many activities planned to celebrate Catholic Education Week 2018.For more resources, information, and schedules click HERE.
Catholic Education Week Prayer
God of Mercy,
You have taught us that where two or three are gathered in your name, you are here with us.
You call us to grow in our knowledge of you, into relationship with those around us and with the world you have created.
Deepen our faith as we walk together in understanding and hope.
Lead us to a future that realizes your kingdom of peace.
May your love continue to light the path we walk.
We make this prayer in the name of Jesus, our brother and guide.
