On September 14, 2018, the Holy Father recieved the participants attending the Fourth Coordination Meeting of the Catholic Charitable Organizations that are working in Iraq, Syria, and neighbouring countries. The event was organized by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. The pope greeted participants in the Consistory Hall of the Vatican Apostolic Palace and assured them of his daily prayers for the suffering populations in that area.
After the event, S+L TV's Rome correspondent Matteo Ciofi had a moment to talk with Aid to the Church in Need's Fr. Andrzej Halemba, who heads the Asia-Africa Section of the organization. In this exclusive interview, he talks to us about his participation at the event and gives us some insight into the current situation of Christians in the Holy Land.
For more from S+L on the situation of Christians in the Holy Land, watch this episode of Perspectives Daily from last year in which Noel Ocol speaks with Carl Hetu of CNEWA.
