Meb Keflezighi was born in war-torn Eritrea. He escaped to Italy with his family and eventually settled in San Diego, where a high school track coach discovered his talent for running. He ran for UCLA and then pursued a professional career, earning several Olympic medals and, most recently, winning the 2014 Boston Marathon. Family, faith, and an acceptance of fate drive him. His heart wills him to win.
