President Trump To Build US-Mexico Wall - Perspectives Daily - January 26 2017

January 26, 2017
Bishop Joe Vasquez of Austin, Texas and chairman of the U.S. Bishops' Committee on Migration criticized yesterday, President Trump's executive order to build a larger wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, saying it would "put immigrant lives needlessly in harm's way, tear families apart and spark fear and panic in communities.
President Trump signed directives to begin building a wall along US border with Mexico and crack down on US cities that shield undocumented immigrants.
"Instead of building walls” the bishop said, “my brother bishops and I will continue to follow the example of Pope Francis. We will look to build bridges between people, bridges that allow us to break down the walls of exclusion and exploitation."
