Do you know that we are called to be missionaries and to share our faith? Join us this week for a special re-broadcast of the SLHOUR from the Missionary Congress of the Americas from Maracaibo, Venezuela. Deacon Pedro speaks with Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Fr. Vito del Prete, PIME of the Pontifical Missionary Union; Maureen Heil of Pontifical Mission Societies of Boston; Fr. Michael Stala, a diocesan missionary priest from Cleveland serving in San Salvador, El Salvador, Fr. Jaime Mora, pss, Provincial Secretary for the Sulpician Province of Canada, Jose Sierra of Pontifical Mission Societies of French Canada and several of the participants and volunteers. WYD 2002 CD Concert – Live!

The WYD2002 compilation album is the only completely international Catholic music collection in the world with artists from over 15 different countries, singing in 7 different languages. They were all in Toronto for WYD in 2002 and pulled together a concert with most of the songs from the album. Tonight on a special edition of the SLHOUR, we bring you highlights from this special concert: the WYD2002 CD LIVE – recorded at Exhibition Place, on July 18th 2002. You’ll hear Tom Booth, Sarah Hart, Susan HooKong-Taylor, Janelle, Daniel Facerias, Hermana Glenda, Critical Mass, Julie Lafontaine, Jesse Manibusan, Martin Valverde, Migueli and Ziza.

Remembering WYDs from Buenos Aires to Sydney

This coming week, hundreds of thousands of young people are meeting in Krakow, Poland for the 31st World Youth Day. Since 1984, young people from around the world have been gathering together with the Holy Father in celebration of our Faith. This week, on a special edition of the SLHOUR we remember the first 24 years of World Youth Days and we hear theme songs from Buenos Aires to Sydney. This program first aired in August 2009.
