The WYD2002 compilation album is the only completely international Catholic music collection in the world with artists from over 15 different countries, singing in 7 different languages. They were all in Toronto for WYD in 2002 and pulled together a concert with most of the songs from the album. Pope John Paul II is the only Pope in history to have songs written about him. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of WYD2002, JPII’s last WYD, we will be remembering him with Fr. Thomas Rosica and hearing from several songwriters who’ve written songs about him including Mark Mallett, Janelle, and Fr. Stan Fortuna.

Pope john Paul II is the only Pope in history to have songs written about him. Tomorrow, he will be beatified and so tonight on SL Radio we play a rebroadcast from April 2009 when we remembered John Paul II with Fr. Thomas Rosica. We will also hear from several songwriters who’ve written songs about JPII, including Mark Mallett, Janelle, Erin Berghouse and Fr. Stan Fortuna.
