為配合2018年以青年為主題的世界主教會議，天主教香港教區決定2018年是的「青年年」，由2017年將臨期第一主日開始，至2018年基督君王節結束。以下是由夏志誠輔理主教負責撰寫的青年年禱詞:

全能仁慈的天父，求袮降福青少年，
讓他們在袮的愛內成長， 能夠明辨善惡，
持守真理，勇於承擔，樂於分享。
願他們在困難中，獲得袮的支持和助佑，
在徬徨時，體會袮的慰藉和陪伴。
主啊！ 求袮幫助他們，
去回應袮給他們每一個人獨特的召叫，
在生命中發光發熱，活出豐盛的人生。
因主耶穌基督之名，求袮俯聽我們的祈禱。
亞孟。

Almighty and merciful Father,
bless our young people,
so that they may grow in your love,
be able to distinguish between good and evil,
hold fast to the truth, and have the courage
to take responsibility and the readiness to share.
Sustain them in their difficulties,
and in their doubts and uncertainties,
accompany them and bring them your comfort.
Lord, we ask you to help young people to respond
to the particular calling that you have for each one of them.
May they shine forth in the world
as Christians and achieve a life which is fulfilling.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
